WC Parent-Teacher Meetings Booking Information for Whānau

May 1, 2026

He waka eke noa, he ngākau tangata, he ngākau whānui. We are all in the canoe together, with a collective heart, with a broad heart.

Kia ora parents and caregivers,

We would like to welcome you to book Parent-Teacher meetings with your son’s subject teachers. These are 5 minute meetings that take place over Weeks 4 and 5 of this term.

We provide flexible options for parents to meet with their child’s subject teachers. This includes in-person meetings from 2.30 – 7pm on the 12th and 21st May, or online options for the rest of those weeks, before and after school, based on the teacher’s schedule.

Please note that in order to support the preparations for our in-person meetings, students are dismissed at 12.30pm. Students are, of course, encouraged to attend the meetings, in their school uniform, with their whānau.

Where will the in-person meetings take place?

They will be held in various classrooms. We will have student guides available to help whānau find their venues.

Parking will be challenging. Please do not park on site until after 4pm (due to buses) and then still consider parking off-site after that.

Tips for booking (see below for how to make the appointments)

  • Log into SchoolBridge, go to Parent-teacher Meetings, and make your appointments.

  • You can book a mixture of in-person and online meetings.

  • Our suggestion is to have a 5 minute break between meetings to ensure you can get to the next meeting in time.

  • The in-person meetings and online meetings are fixed. We are unable to offer in-person meetings during online meeting times and vice versa.

  • These events are focused on meeting subject teachers. You will not be able to book a slot with your young person’s Tutor teacher. Tutor conferences are held in Term 3.

  • Due to limited slots for our students, you can only book one slot per family for each student. We appreciate your understanding of this.

  • If you have any questions, please contact reception.

What can I expect in the meetings?

Each subject teacher typically has 100 – 150 students, so we are unable to meet for longer than 5 minutes. Because it is a short space of time, we suggest this structure for the meeting, which will be led by the teacher:

  • What is going well

  • Something to work on or to develop

  • Any questions from the parents/caregivers

These meetings are a valuable opportunity to connect and set specific goals. You may like to review your son’s Term 1 reports prior to the meeting. These are available through the parent portal.

Hamish Davidson, HOD Careers & Transition, is available to talk with ākonga and whānau about career pathway options during interview times. To book a time please use the careers booking link.
