Rebuild the Terraces, Update!

September 19, 2025

We are delighted to confirm that Stephenson and Turner (S&T) have been chosen through the RFP process as architects to deliver phase one of Rebuild the Terraces.

Pip Julian, Principal Architect, will be the project lead. Pip provided the original concept drawings used for the Rebuild the Terraces Proposal in 2024. S&T have put together a team of industry experts that have a close connection to Wellington College and a detailed understanding of the needs of the community.

Watch our video of Headmaster Glen Denham and Pip Julian talk about the project here.

Phase one will run from September – November 2025 and cover:

  • Geotechnical engineering

  • Architectural

  • Structural engineering

  • Civil engineering

  • Quantity surveying

Jerry Spinks, class of 95, Geotechnical Engineer and one of the Founders/Directors at Torlesse. Jerry is excited to be back helping to rebuild the Terraces. He joked that what he is doing would be classed as ‘wilful damage to property’ and get him in a lot of trouble if he was still at WC. We were delighted to have Jerry back, smashing a few bricks in the name of a good cause!

Geotechnical engineers assessing the soil composition and bearing capacity to inform the design of the rebuilt Terraces.

At the completion of this process, we will have our design, cost breakdown and timeline confirmed.

Thank you again to everyone in our community who has contributed to rebuilding the Terraces. This important legacy project will not happen without your support.
