NZQA Exam Results

January 7, 2026

If you sat an NCEA or NZ Scholarship external exam in 2025, you can view your results online via your NZQA learner login from 14 January 2026. NZ Scholarship results will be released on 9 February.

You can see your exam scripts online using your NZQA Learner Login until June.  Paper exam scripts will not be posted to you.

  • If you sat Level 3 and NZ Scholarship Visual Arts portfolios, the materials will be sent to you by post.

  • Design and Visual Communication portfolios are returned to school and can be collected by your teacher.

You can login to NZQA here, and there is also information about what to do if you have lost your login details.

If you need help reading your results, see here.

What if I am not happy with my results?

Review and reconsideration applications open on January 20, and you apply through your login.

  • If you think an external standard that you completed is missing some or all of its content, or a grade score has been calculated or reported incorrectly, you will need to apply for a review. A review does not involve re-marking and there is no charge.

  • If you would like your marked exam remarked, you will need to apply for a reconsideration. For standards where you’ve received your exam materials, you will need to include these in your application for a review or reconsideration

There is NO COST to a review. There is a small fee to apply for a reconsideration.  If you are suffering financial hardship, there is a form you can use to have the fee waived.  This is in your student login, or Ms Lendrum can help with this.

Further information about reviews and reconsiderations is here. The deadline for NCEA reviews and reconsiderations is 18 February.

Derived Grade applications

If you applied to NZQA for a derived grade, unless you have heard directly from Ms Lendrum, your application has been approved. If you did sit the exam, you will receive the higher result for any standard(s) you applied for.

What if I have not got the credits I need?

If you have narrowly missed an endorsement (fewer than 6 credits), or you have missed out on L3 or UE, it is likely that we have enough time to help you, but you must contact us as soon as possible.
