Congratulations to Ieremia Mia Morris for being chosen as one of the prize recipients to win a Ministry for Pacific Peoples, Toloa Scholarship 2023, in last week’s Award Ceremony.
This scholarship provides support for Pasifika students to prepare and embrace their futures in STEAM – (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics subjects and STEAM related subjects).
Mia received funding to the value of $2,000, which included a Digital Chrome book, and $1,000 towards school fees, stationary and any STEAM related excursions. He also receives Toloa Wellbeing support throughout the year – delivered by LeVa, and will attend Toloa STEAM challenge in 2023 - The scholarship in March/April 2023
This is the second year that MPP have offered these awards. Congratulations to our last year’s prize recipients – Noah Saolele and Liam Saolele for being awarded a Toloa Scholarship 2022 from Wellington College.
Toloa’s Vision is to make a transformational impact in the communities we live in. Toloa Scholarships support Pacific students in Years 9through 13 to pursue studies in STEAM. The scholarship seeks to inspire and support Pacific student’s early stages of STEAM academic engagement.
