Wellington College’s joint duxes of 2019 have performed exceptionally well in the New Zealand Scholarship Awards. Liam Anderson gained a total of 8 scholarship awards, with 4 at ‘outstanding’ level and Nicholas Patel gained a total of 5 scholarship awards, with 4 of these at ‘outstanding' level. Jesse Richardson also performed brilliantly, gaining 7 'scholarship' awards, with 2 'outstanding'.
Liam & Nicholas have both been named among New Zealand's Premier Scholars. This places them in the top 12 students in Year 13 in New Zealand in 2019.
Liam was also the Top Scholar in New Zealand for Spanish and Jesse was the Top Scholar in New Zealand for History. Jesse was also identified as an 'Outstanding Scholar', placing him within the top 70 students in New Zealand.
Scholarships are reserved for the top 3% of Year 13 students across New Zealand in each subject area. ‘Outstanding’ awards are given to the top 0.3% of Year 13 students in each subject area.
Wellington College’s students gained a total of 105 awards. 53 individual students attained Scholarships in 15 different subjects. 13 awards were gained at ‘Outstanding’ level. These results continue Wellington College’s remarkable record of success in these prestigious examinations.
