Dear parents and caregivers of students in Years 9 & 10
Please note that at Alert Level 3, all students in Years 11-13 will continue their ‘Learning @ Home’ programme as they have for the duration of the Level 4 lockdown.
Parents and caregivers of students in Years 9 & 10 are also required to keep their children at home if possible. The Government is asking you only to send your son to school if you are unable to provide adequate supervision for him at home.
At Wellington College, we will not be providing conventional classroom programmes for Year 9 & 10 students on campus during Level 3. Our school programme for those students who are registered will consist of staff members providing students with school-based supervision of their ‘Learning @ Home’ programmes. Students will be placed in ‘school bubbles’of no more than 10 students. They will be allocated a supervising teacher, a classroom, and an outside area for their interval and lunch breaks. In line with Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education guidelines, they will not be able to mix with students from other ‘school bubbles’.
If you intend to send your son to school between April 29 and May 15 (inclusive), please email Dave Ashby (Associate Principal) email@example.com, registering him for each of the days that he will be attending. We are happy to be able to support our families providing essential and safe services in this way.
There is no need for you to email Dave if your son will not be attending.
This is a challenging and unprecedented situation for all of us. We are grateful for your ongoing support of Wellington College and your care for those in our school community during this time.
