Huge congratulations to Year 11 student Jesse Rumball-Smith who has won the NIWA Wellington Regional Science Fair overall prize for a second year running.
Jesse also took out several other prizes. This year Jesse’s project involve creating an app, including writing the code himself, entitled ‘Safe Drive NZ’. The app encourages drivers to slow down by using audible ‘nudging’ cues when they are speeding. There are also other features. Trialling has demonstrated that this idea has genuine application and it has real potential to slow drivers down. Watch this space for further developments.
