When is a good time to start ?
Short Term Students (up to 10 weeks) : Please Note: In 2025 we only have places available for short term students who will be staying with a family member or designated caregiver.
Medium Term Students ( 10 weeks to 3 terms): You can be part of both the summer and winter sports as well as all of the events on the Arts and Culture calendar. Talk to Mr Mike Ellett m.ellett@wc.school.nz or Mr Feng Yu F.yu@wc.school.nz Please Note: Places for medium term students in 2025 are limited for students who require homestay accommodation.
Long Term Students : Regardless of year level a January Term 1 start is always the best. A student entering into a Level 2 (Year 12), or a Level 3 (Year 13) course should always start in January. As a guide only, an IELTS overall score of 5.5 should mean a Year 12 or Year 13 will be competitive in the NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 internal and external examinations. The largest intakes at Wellington College are January and July.
2024 Finishing Dates : Year 9 & 10 Students 13 December, Year 11 Students 25 November, Year 12 &13 Students after their last NCEA exam
