Enrolment

We welcome your interest in our school. We know that selecting a secondary school is a very important decision and we will work with you to ensure you feel confident in your choice. Once an enrolment application is submitted, an acknowledgement email from the Enrolment Manager will be sent. Please note, an email is not generated immediately after submission.

Upon acceptance of an application (in-zone students are guaranteed a place), the school will make contact in August 2023 to invite students to meet with a member of our Strategic Leadership Team to discuss their transition to Wellington College. This is an opportunity for us to learn more about our in-coming students, confirm their language option, and discuss their potential involvement in sporting and cultural activities. Students are welcome to ask questions at this meeting. The aim is to make the transition from primary/intermediate to secondary school as smooth and positive as possible.

Applications

In-zone enrolment applications for 2024 may be made at any time during the year prior to the start of school. We request that these be submitted online by Monday, 24 July 2023 to allow for curriculum planning and so that we can determine out-of-zone enrolment numbers.

All applications must have a copy of the student’s birth certificate (and passport if the student was born outside New Zealand).

In-zone applications must also provide a rates notice/tenancy agreement and a utility account to confirm in-zone status.

Students should remain within the College zone for at least two years from the time the student starts at the College. The College must be immediately notified of any change of address, within the zone.
