Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Wellington College is adopting a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) approach for our from the start of 2013. Although Wellington College has not mandated the requirement for students to purchase their own devices for 2013, we would like to encourage students to bring Information and Communication Technology to school to use in their learning.
We have also prepared a Device Guide that provides some information about the different sorts of ICT device and their suitability for learning at school.
We have developed a document to guide the Use Of ICT In The School. Rather than developing a list of rules, which become outdated quickly and which often provide loopholes to exploit, we have attempted to ground the preferred behaviours to our school values. This document will be used to educate and shape our students’ thinking about their use of ICT.
Appropriate Use of ICT Guidelines
The use of ICT in schools is rapidly changing as educators explore the ways in which ICT can advance the learning of students. Wellington College ICT Integrators, have prepared a webpage with links to a number of resources that may be of interest to you in exploring ICT and BYOD at Wellington College.
