School Production
Most years there is a major school drama production. This is a scripted play, and recent productions include Once on Chunuk Bair and Niu Sila. All students are welcome to audition, although the majority of the cast and crew tend to be senior students.

Musical
For the first time in a number of years, a musical was staged at Wellington College in June 2008. Blood Brothers was a stunning show which showcased the musical and dramatic talent at the school. It was a collaborative production with students from Wellington Girls’ College taking the female roles.

Junior Drama
Senior students write the script for Junior Drama and direct and produce the show. The cast comprises students from Years 9 to 11. This is a very popular production which is usually staged in Term 3.

Year 9 Drama Festival
At the end of the academic year when Year 9 students have finished examinations, each English class produces and stages a play in the Brierley Theatre. Some classes also write their scripts. Students learn the skills of script-writing, acting, costuming, staging, lighting and sound.

Year 13 Drama Class Production
The Year 13 Drama class stages a performance of Shakespeare or else an alternative production is presented.

Theatresports
Theatresports is held during lunchtime on Friday and is often run by an outside tutor. No experience is required, and anyone interested in some performance fun is most welcome. Towards the end of the year a Theatresports exchange is held with other schools.
