Welcome to the wider Wellington College community!
The Parents’ Association has been affected increasingly by the priority that parents give to supporting the numerous sporting and cultural activities in which boys are involved. Over the past 5 years or so fewer and fewer parents have shown interest in using the Association meetings as a vehicle for strengthening their relationship with the College or for raising concerns with the senior management team. This means that there is little continuing justification for the two parent groups within the College community. It makes sense to amalgamate activities and responsibilities. What we are now doing is morphing the Parents’ Association into College Mothers from the start of the 2011 school year.
Functions coordinated to date through the Parents’ Association will continue. For example, the Father (or significant male) and Son Breakfast which was such a success this year will again be convened in mid 2011 by Sue Mahon and Caroline McGlynn Tran who have been stalwarts of the Parents’ Association.
Until the final decision has been officially ratified the Parents’ Association mailbox on My Coll will continue to be monitored. Should you have any questions or feedback please do not hesitate to use this avenue.
