Scholarship results from 2009 are again remarkable with 54 different students gaining 107 Scholarships. 24 of these were at outstanding level. This again puts Wellington College’s Scholarship performance at the highest level on the national stage.
Two students, Jack Dunn and Stewart Marshall, were named Premier Scholars, among the top eight Scholarship students in the country for which they will receive $10,000 for three years. Four students were top in the country for their Scholarship subjects: Taylor Hughson in Media Studies, Bowen Liu in Economics, Andrew McIndoe in Latin, and Stewart Marshall in Mathematics with Calculus.
These results are testimony to the reality that large numbers of our students are able to achieve at the elite level by specific target-setting and determination. It is also testimony to their teachers who did such a fine job preparing them for their examinations.
